12 Merriman Street
Kyle Bay NSW 2221
Tired old venue with water views. Up stairs is the public bar and bistro. The problem is the widows have a film on them so as soon as the sun goes down they turn into mirrors so you don’t get any view. The balcony was covered in cigarette butts on the night we arrived and our meal came late and in no particular order so some members of our group had finished before others began. Interesting building however it was in a state of disrepair with fittings missing and ugly patch work visible.
There is no gaming room or poker machines which is odd as there is a bowling club attached to the venue. The public bar is surrounded with monitors showing sport. However there is no facility for betting.
Down stairs is the function area with space for 120 guests in banquet style seating. The room is irregular with large supports throughout the room. You have to walk out of the function area to get drinks. The only view of the water from the function area is through glass doors that let in very little natural light and face south over Georges River. There is also a restaurant on the ground floor which prevents functions from having any loud music so don’t waist your money on a DJ, live performers or karaoke.
